Hidden Treasure

Built originally in 1890, this Devonport Villa has seen a few changes through the decades. When Megan and Antony bought the home, they came with a new vision and engaged the services of Michael O’Sullivan from Bull O’Sullivan Architects to bring that vision to concept and plans then entrusting Murray Long Builders to bring it to reality. The build was completed over two stages with a five year break in the middle.

Throughout the two stages of the build the house revealed hidden secrets, some which brought beauty in enhancing the original Kauri match lining and pressed steel detailing, others resulted in a need for some areas to be restrengthened and rebuilt. The final result is a colourful home with multiple living options and spaces that create peaceful family life and suit their overseas based family as they come to stay for months at a time.

The final touch on the house is the Jared Lockhart designed landscaping to enhance the gardens and outdoor living spaces all which bring a cohesion and add to the fascinating colour palette of the home.
